Custard Meets Vintage

We have outgrown our Custard HeadQuarters so have been looking for something new! We have been searching high and low for the right unit for some time now ... and finally have found a perfect unit! Hurray we shout ... and jump up and down! It is close to home ... in fact so close we can walk to it! The space is a little overwhelming .... compared to our Garden office, but we are sure we will fill it in time!

The space has got us thinking ..... an opportunity we think to showcase not only the items we sell online, but to look into expanding!

We would like to create a 'Lifestyle' shop selling fashion accessories alongside homeware, new alongside vintage.

We are hoping to create a workshop area where we can also design, restore, and make some of our own fashion accessories and homeware.

We are looking at taking over the unit at the end of July, so we have started buying fabrics and trims to start designing with and have been visiting lots of carboots and flea markets looking out for some vintage homeware to adorn our shelves with!

We will be blogging with all our news , our progress with the unit, our launch, our finds, our new designs, new stock and lots more ... hopefully it will be an interesting read!

It has been a very busy year, firstly with the birth of our second child ... Beatrice Ida, Our website being relaunched, my long suffering husband going self employed and finally an extension on our house ... which we are still in the process of!

After seeing many new blogs , including our own on our website ... I felt it was the time to update this blog ... and give it the attention it deservedly needs.

Hope you like the new look :-) I haven't decided on exactly what I will blog about going forward ... but probably a lot of rambling xxx

Stall at Hay on Wye

A busy day today getting some admin stuff done and getting prepared for stall at Hay On Wye this friday! I want to go out and buy some new fabric and other items to refresh the way my stand looks! Will blog what I find/Buy later !

Hay on Wye festival starts tomorrow, a great festival to attend !

Hello
Another day another Blog ! As Promised ! we've been having some problems with our links on our blogs - so hoping that we might have solved it on this blog! fingers crossed ! If not ! and none of our links work on this blog....... help!?! Please!!!

Have had a good night , our little Bea slept the whole night :-) such a good girl and only 9 weeks old! lets hope its not a one off! So much easier to cope and get on with things, when you've had a good night ! The sun is also out here, which helps too!

We have just started doing ' Home and Garden Bizaar ' @ the Corn Hall in cirencester http://www.cornhallcirencester.com
It is on every wednesday and we should be there today, but have decided to have a day off and get on with some much needed filing and general office housekeeping! Boring but much needed!

If you get a chance pop along to the Corn Hall in Cirencester , they have some fab sellers, selling from Jewellery to Sheepskin Rugs !

Custard Designs update2

Well it has been a long time since I last Blogged! Things have been very hectic since our new arrival and I have found that I have had not many chances in the day to get to the toilet let alone write my Blog! Things are beginning to settle down a little and I have even managed to get to a few fairs over the last couple of weeks, which has been fantastic, especially as I get to speak to adults for a day ! Poor people.... I can talk at the best of times :-)

We have started to attend A Home and Garden Bizaar at Cirencester. Its a lovely event and is on every Wednesday. It is in the Corn Hall in the centre of Cirencester. Its a great hall and on a wednesday it is full of lovely stalls, ranging from Jewellery to Sheepskin rugs. Its worth a visit if you live near or fancy a day out! Check out The Corn Hall

We have currently been working on our website! Updating our front page and doing some general housekeeping! Let us know what you think! We will be listing some new items soon , including some lovely new handmade corsages, as image on this blog! Gorgeous aren't they?

Sorry for not blogging for a while, have been a little busy with our new arrival ! Our Beautiful little girl who arrived just over a week ago!
We're all doing well! a little more sleep would be good though !

Hello
I know haven't blogged for a while! Waiting for my bump to become baby! so so tired at the moment! Could sleep all day ! My due date is today ! but no progress on that front !

Working on front page of Custard Designs www.custarddesigns.com - trying to get more product images on front page, but trying to simplify at same time - Hopefully be live by next week!

We are also creating a ' Handmade' page on our site, and will to begin with have some of our handmade stationary and some handmade corsages and hairclips from my friend Alsion Goulding ! - really gorgeous stuff! I will post some images later!

We have been selling some of our bags on e-bay, so see if it could be worth us setting up an ebay shop! - we will be relisting some today! so take alook - search for leather bags under seller Custarddesigns!

Had a great day yesterday, at the Farnham Maltings, Monthly Market ! Expected a quiet day, but had good amount of customers, and resulted in lots of bags sales for Custard Designs ! Hurray maybe 2010 will be a better year for fairs ! Have a busy week attending fairs this week, at a Pamper evening at Huntley on Tuesday evening, In Cirencester at a Home and Garden Bazzar at the Corn Hall, during the day and at Redmarley Village Hall, Friday evening, for a Ladies shopping event ! Hope for a successful week !

Also need to go to Spring Fair at Nec, Birmingham Hopefully on Tuesday ! To find some new items to purchase ! Always exciting !!

WOW !!! My first Post ! I just have to find some followers now ! January has been a quiet month, so I have been busy looking at ways to promote Custard Designs online, hence this post and you will now see Custard Designs on Face book, Twitter and other sites in and around Gloucestershire. I will be trying to use these sites to let everyone know about new products, Promotions, events @ www.custarddesigns.com I hope you all will become avid followers!

I have also been looking into New Products for this spring/summer and will be launching some new, 'Owen Barry' bags and a new line of jewellery at the beginning of February and I am looking forward to visiting the Spring Fair at Birmingham NEC early February, to find some new brands to showcase on www.custarddesigns.com

Please let me know if you have any comments on my blogs and any suggestions on improvements I can make on my website, all suggestions, good or bad will be welcome !
